Stepping Out

Leslie Shoots - May 14, 2013

blessed, cheering, give, measure, ministry, other's, praying, share, truth

A few months ago, Chuck was telling me I would be blessed by being a part of a prison ministry. I have to say, I wasn't too interested. After all, I was feeling really comfortable in my comfort zone.

Have you ever discovered that, when you share with someone in need, you might set out thinking, “I don’t know if I’ll be able to help, say the right thing, or be a blessing,” only to find that when you get there, you are the one who ends up receiving the blessing?

I'm learning that, when we give, Jesus gives back even more! Just as He said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." It’s in praying for the sick that I become healthier. It’s in cheering the discouraged that I am encouraged. And it’s in explaining truth to others that I begin to understand things more clearly.

Thanks Chuck! And thank you Restore family for pulling me out of my comfort zone.
